Painful memories. Painful experiences. Painful perceptions. We all have them. Richard Rohr often says, “If you do not transform your pain, you will most assuredly transmit it.” One way to work at transforming pain is through Gestalt Pastoral Care, known as GPC for short. GPC rests on the belief that God’s grace is constantly at work in each person.
GPC is rooted in the Christian ministry of healing and uses Gestalt growth work, spiritual companioning and prayer for healing. While GPC practitioners can’t predict how a person will be healed, you can expect to be touched in body, mind, spirit, emotions, and/or social/relational ways in a process that is unique to you alone when entering into a GPC experience.
Donna Mast is a commissioned GPC Minister. She is excited to offer a one-day retreat, called Opening to Grace. After a brief introduction to the day, participants will be invited to be the focus of the group as they work with Donna in safe space to discover what it is that God intends for them in their healing journey. When not the focus, participants will serve as prayerful observers.
