Core Values
As Anabaptist Christians, here are some things that are important to us.
- Jesus is the center of our faith. We believe that the life and teachings of Jesus give us the clearest picture of who God is and a model for daily living. We read the Bible through the lens of Jesus. Learning to be a disciple of Jesus is a lifelong journey. We invite you to come learn, explore, and grow with us as we pursue this path.
- Community is the center of our life. Mutual aid, offering support in times of need, and building meaningful connections are at the heart of our congregational life. We are not meant to do this life alone.
- Reconciliation is the center of our work. Jesus modeled a way of nonviolent love that not only reconciles us to God, but also to each other. The love of God unites us across borders and beliefs. We seek to move beyond the forces that divide our world, bringing healing to relationships.
- Care and respect for all of God's creation. God's reconciling love not only calls us to care for each other, but moves us to care for the Earth. We seek to honor, respect, and bring healing to our relationship with God's creation.
- Everyone means everyone. We believe that all humans are created in the image of God, carrying inherent dignity, value, and worth. We are committed to being a people of welcome and inclusion.
- Living out our faith through service. Serving our local and global communities is essential if we are to follow Jesus' model for living. Many in our congregation have served terms of voluntary service domestically and internationally. Serving our local community is primary to showing God's love to our neighbors.
